GE265 Sofa by Hans J. Wegner and GETAMA, Oak 1960s

€3,140.00

A beautiful 2-seater sofa by Danish Hans J. Wegner from Getama Manufactor, see original stamp on photo. This compact model is rarely seen and has a clean, understated aesthetic that fits seamlessly into almost any home, as its design is sharply defined.

The cushions are original, featuring metal springs and Epeda inserts that give them a distinct, slightly squared look—key for the sofa’s design. This squared look enhances both the comfort, which is exceptional, and the structure, providing a subtle frame for the sofa's lines. The soft oak frame, with its organic grain and smoothly curved shape, contrasts beautifully with the cushions' firm, square expression.

The sofa does need reupholstering, as the fabric is faded and worn in some areas. However, it is still fully functional. The wood has been cleaned and oiled, and while there are a few marks on one armrest, these only add to its character—a testament to a well-loved piece that has been part of many moments, perhaps even a few warm cups of coffee placed on its arm.

Seat height measures 43cm.

Dimensions: Height: 30.91 in (78.5 cm)Width: 51.19 in (130 cm)Depth: 29.14 in (74 cm)Seat Height: 16.93 in (43 cm)
