Rainer Daumiller Style Solid Extendable Pinewood Dinning Table, 1980's Dyrlund
Large, beautiful solid pine dining table with extension. The table is crafted from thick pine wood, organically shaped with soft curves and rounded edges. It has been lightly oiled and left raw in its expression — we deliberately chose not to sand it down completely, as we love the rustic look. With this particular piece, it's meant to show that it has lived a life.
The overall feel of the table is calm and soft due to its rounded form, but the striking, large pine knots add contrast and edge, breaking up the gentle expression in a way that gives it character.
It’s solid and heavy, with a thick 4 cm tabletop (approx. 1.57 inches). It can be extended with two additional leaves, each measuring 44 cm (approx. 17.32 inches). The style is reminiscent of Danish architect Rainer Daumiller, but this piece is most likely by Dyrlund. It’s stamped underneath with ‘84.
The extension mechanism runs smoothly and securely — the table opens easily and can be handled by one person. See video for demonstration.
Everything has a beautiful patina and will last for many years to come.
